The police are warning the public against suspicious people at the nation’s main airports, offering to load vehicles or posing as legitimate transportation service providers.

According to the police, there have been several reports of unscrupulous people posing as transport operators at the airports robbing unsuspecting individuals.

The police say some of these people also also offer to load or unload vehicles with others trailing motorists to their homes, where they are held up and robbed of cash and other valuables.

The police say they will be doubling their efforts and surveillance to ensure the safety of residents and tourists but they want the public be to mindful of their own safety.

Individuals are being asked to immediately report any suspicious activities.

Also, if persons suspect they are being followed from the airport, they should proceed to a busy location and immediately and contact the police at 311, 811 or police 119 emergency number.
