FOOTBALL: Waterhouse to take on Barbican in Monday Night Premier League fixture

Published:Monday | December 8, 2014 | 12:00 AM

Waterhouse look set to open up a five-point lead atop the points standings when they host newcomers Barbican in the Monday Night fixture of the Red Stripe Premier League.

The match will be played at the Drewsland Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.

It will be the final fixture on Match Day 12 and the first game for both teams in the second round.

Waterhouse enter the second round with good form having won seven of their 11 games, while Barbican have only registered two victories.

They are second from the bottom on 10 points and should find it hard to improve that tally against Waterhouse.

Meanwhile, Boys’ Town registered a 4-1 home victory against Sporting Central yesterday at Collie Smith Drive for a perfect start to the second round.

With the victory, Boys Town climbed out of the relegation zone after entering the day bottom of the table.

Defending champions Montego Bay United, Arnett Gardens and Tivoli Gardens also secured perfect starts to the second round.

Montego Bay outscored Reno 3-2 at Frome Sports Club to move to second place, Arnett Gardens blanked Harbour View 2-0 at the Anthony Spaulding Complex and Tivoli Gardens beat Humble Lion 1-0 at the Edward Seaga Complex.

In the other game on the day Cavalier slipped from second place to third following a goalless draw against visitors Rivoli United at the Stadium East field.
