The 20 year old man accused of killing eight-year-old Celeena Headman was remanded on Thursday when he appeared in the Morant Bay Resident Magistrate's Court.

Tristan Shannon, of Soho in St Thomas, was charged with the murder of the child after her body was found in February of this year.

Reports are that Headman was sent to a shop in Soho on February and when she did not return, a search was launched and her body was found in bushes, with her hands bound and her throat slashed.

Shannon was taken into custody shortly after and charged.

He is to return to the Morant Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court on December 19, where a bail application is expected to be made.
