FOOTBALL: Vacancy at Wolmer's Boys following resignation of football coach

Published:Monday | December 15, 2014 | 1:03 PM

Wolmer’s Boys will have a new Manning Cup coach for the 2015 football season as Ludlow Bernard has resigned after five years in charge.

Bernard’s resignation came just over a week after the senior schoolboy football season ended.

During his stay at Wolmer's Boys, the school won back-to-back Walker Cup knockout titles but failed to lift the more lucrative Manning Cup title.

The Wolmerians failed to win any silverware this season.

They reached the semi-finals of the Manning Cup but lost 1-0 to Charlie Smith.

In the Walker Cup competition, Charlie Smith cut down Wolmer's again, this time winning 2-1 at the quarter-final stage.

Wolmer's Boys also made it to the semi-final of the inaugural Super Cup Knockout and were beaten 1-0 by Holy Trinity.

Bernard could now fill the vacant spot at his alma-mater Kingston College.
