ODPEM weather update

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) says it is continuing to monitor the current situation in the northern section of the island as the heavy rains persist.



It says in St Mary there are reports of flooding in the communities of Stewart Town, Boscobel and Port Maria Housing Schemes as well as Stennett Street in Port Maria.



It says recurring incidences of rockfall and land slippage has been reported in the community of Little Bay as continuous rains result in soil saturation.



Meanwhile, the National Works Agency (NWA) says it has been responded to cases of blocked drains in the parish to including in Mango Valley; Stewart Town and Bottom Albany.



Two dwelling units were also severely damaged in the community of Free Hill as a result of a break away to the road surface.
