More concerns about J'can man jailed in Qatar

Published:Sunday | December 21, 2014 | 9:53 AM

Opposition senator Robert Montague has raised questions about the government’s efforts to secure a pardon for a Jamaican man incarcerated in Qatar.

Airline pilot Paul Stephens was arrested in Qatar three years ago after he was accused of sexual molestation.

Stephens was convicted of betrayal of trust of a minor and imprisoned.

The Jamaican government has since requested a pardon for Stephens, but Montague is questioning whether the matter is receiving priority attention.
