Lloyd Wilks appointed Jamaica's consul general to Toronto

Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister, Senator A.J. Nicholson has announced the appointment of Lloyd Wilks as Jamaica's new Consul General to Toronto, Canada.



He replaces George Ramocan, whose tour of duty ended on November 30.

The incoming Wilks is a career diplomat with more than 25 years of experience in the Jamaican Foreign Service.



He is currently the Director of the Diaspora and Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.



A statement from the Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister said Wilks played a central role in the organisation and execution of the last two Biennial Diaspora Conferences.



Wilks is set to begin his tenure next month.
