Police seize five firearms and 22 rounds of ammunition since Christmas Day

The police say a total of 5 illegal firearms and 22 rounds of ammunition have been seized in separate incidents across the island since Christmas Day.



The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) says 4 men have been taken into custody in connection with the seizures.



According to the CCU, two of the firearms were seized this morning in the Stony Hill and Balcon Avenue areas of St Andrew.



The police report that two more guns were seized yesterday in Hope Flats, St Andrew and in Tryall, Hanover.



The other firearm was handed over to the Ocho Rios Police on Christmas Day following an altercation between two men at a hotel in St Ann.
