A St Thomas businessman is now in hospital after he was shot yesterday night during a robbery at his home in Seaforth.

The police say 44-year-old Errol Williamson arrived at his Seaforth Housing Scheme home minutes after 11:00 Saturday night and was held up by three armed men who demanded money.

Williamson refused, and a struggle ensued, during which Williamson was shot in the leg. He was subsequently robbed of cash in excess of J$80,000. The men escaped on foot, while Williamson was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment.

The St Thomas police are investigating.
