Man arrested in MOCA operation

A man who is suspected of committing a series of major crimes, was arrested this morning by the Major Organized Crime and Anti Corruption Agency, MOCA.



The man was arrested in a predawn operation at Red Ground in Old Harbour, St. Catherine.



A semi automatic pistol with several rounds of ammunition was also seized in the operation.



Two other persons were taken into custody during the operation.



The identities of the three are being withheld to facilitate further investigation.



It’s understood that about 5:00 a.m., a team from MOCA assisted by members of the Mobile Reserve SWAT Team and the Jamaica Defence Force carried out the operation.



During the search of a premises occupied by the man, a Ruger semi-automatic with 16 nine mm cartridges along with army fatigue uniform, a marked police raincoat, a pair of police pants, 90 bags of marijuana were seized.
