Fire guts three businesses along Camp Road, St Andrew

Published:Saturday | January 3, 2015 | 1:53 PM

Fire this morning destroyed three business places along Camp Road, in St Andrew, leaving damage estimated at between $15- and $20-million.

Senior Deputy Superintendent at the Jamaica Fire Department Patrick Gooden says there is no indication what sparked the blaze that destroyed Everyday Auto Parts store as well as an adjoining restaurant and barber shop.

It is reported that the fire started shortly after 7 o’clock inside the auto parts store and according to Gooden it quickly spread to the adjoining businesses.

He says it took fire fighters more than one-and-a half hours to bring the fire under control.

Gooden says investigators are now probing the cause of the fire.
