The initial stage in the Government's search for a private investor to operate the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston is expected to end in about two weeks.

In an advertisement in today’s Sunday Gleaner, the transport ministry said the invitation for pre-qualification application will close on January 19.

The Government wants private sector operators with proven experience in the aviation sector to operate, finance, develop and maintain the airport under a long-term concession agreement.

International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, has been appointed by the Government as the lead advisor on the restructuring and execution of the airport's divestment.
