JUTC lowers cost to replace smartercards for concession passengers

Published:Sunday | January 4, 2015 | 1:31 PM

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) is reducing the cost to replace SmarterCards that have been lost or damaged for concession passengers.

The JUTC says it will now cost J$200 dollars, down from J$500, to replace the SmarterCards of concession passengers. Concession passengers are students, the elderly and the disabled.

In the meantime, the JUTC is appealing to all its concession passengers without their SmarterCard to acquire one now.

The JUTC says as of tomorrow, it will no longer allow these passengers to use their SmarterCards to pay for other concession passengers.
