The St Catherine North Police division has stepped up its presence in Kingland district, Kitson Town, and surrounding areas, in response to the brutal killing of a couple.

Forty-seven-year-old Radcliffe Richards and his wife, Ann-Marie, were shot and killed at their home in the rural farming community on Saturday night.

It is reported that the couple was at home with family members when the criminals entered the house and fired shots, killing them on the spot.

More than a dozen spent shells were reportedly recovered from the scene.

Head of the St Catherine North Division, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, says the police will spare no effort to bring the perpetrators to justice.

SSP Nesbeth says no motive has been established for the shooting.

He is again calling for residents with information about criminal activities in the community to tell the police what they know.

The Kitson Town area has reportedly been tense following a recent shooting.

Three weeks ago, the police shot and killed an alleged gunman and seized an M16 rifle in the community.
