A suspect has been taken into police custody in relation to the killing of Constable Orville Preddie in South Manchester in December.

Preddie, who was attached to the Asia Police station, was killed on Thursday December 18, while at a bar and grocery shop in the community of Farm.

He was reportedly shot in the head after gunmen found his Jamaica Constabulary Force I.D. on his person.

Meanwhile, the Manchester police say one of two men on the parish’s most wanted list who have been caught has now been charged.

He is Robert Johnson, also known as ‘Hand Gun’, of Top Greenvale in the Parish.

Johnson was charged with the 2012 Murder of retired police sergeant, Kenneth Guthrie.

He is expected to go before the courts tomorrow.
