ATHLETICS: Entries in for JC invitational

Published:Tuesday | January 6, 2015 | 1:39 AM

Chairman of the organising committee of this Saturday’s Pure Water Jamaica College invitational track and field meet, Ian Forbes, says he is pleased with the number of entries received following last Friday’s deadline.

Forbes says he has received more than 2,000 entries, including some from top high school teams.

He adds that he is expecting good all round competition from schools, as most of the coaches will be using the meet to assess their athletes' readiness after the long holiday break.

Action in the meet is set to start on the track at 8:30 a.m. with the Girls Open 3,000 metres, to be followed by the Boys Open 5,000 metres.
