FOOTBALL: National Under-20 team behind in their preparations - coach Whitmore

Jamaica’s Under-20 head coach Theodore Whitmore has admitted they are not fully prepared to contest the CONCACAF FIFA Under-20 Championship, which kicks-off tomorrow.

Whitmore says the junior Reggae Boyz are behind in their preparation and have a lot work to do ahead of their opening clash against Trinidad and Tobago.

He states that most of the other teams coming in for the championship have better-quality players who play in professional leagues around the world.

The young Reggae Boyz engaged Cuba in two warm-up games in preparation for the championship, which serves as a qualifier for four CONCACAF nations to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The Jamaicans won the first game 2-1 on Saturday while the final match ended in a one all draw on Monday.
