RUBiS, JGRA meeting postponed

Published:Friday | January 9, 2015 | 10:09 AM

Today's planned mediation meeting between energy minister Phillip Paulwell and the management team from RUBiS has been postponed to next week.

This is because of the unavailability of Paulwell who had to make an emergency trip abroad to attend to urgent government business.

The energy minister is mediating a dispute between RUBiS and the Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association (JGRA).

The JGRA contends that the petroleum marketing company is imposing unfair business practices on its members who are dealers for the brand.

RUBiS had agreed to delay imposing the new measures pending the outcome of today’s meeting and the JGRA had also put on hold its planned protest action for the same reason.

JGRA President Leonard Green says the dealers are willing to await the outcome of the discussions.
