Jamaican swimmer Alia Atkinson arrived home to a golden welcome at the Norman Manley International Airport.

Atkinson swam a world-record-matching 1: 2. 36 seconds in Doha, Qatar late last year to become joint world record holder of the women’s 100 meter breast stroke.

She says she will be working hard to break the world record by the 2016 Rio de Janiero Olympic Games in Brazil.

Atkinson also says her performance was decades in coming and credited family and team support.
