Taxi operator in Clarendon Chinese businessman murder remanded

CLARENDON, Jamaica:

The taxi operator charged with the murder of Chinese businessman Jun Peng in Clarendon last month was ordered remanded when he appeared in court on Thursday.




The taxi operator, Elroy Heron, appeared in the May Pen Resident Magistrate’s Court.



He’s to return to court on the January 29 when his case will be mentioned.



Twenty-six-year-old Peng, who operates businesses in May Pen and Lionel Town, was found dead along the Dawkin Pen main road in Lionel Town on December 18 after he was allegedly robbed of some $250,000.



Heron was arrested and charged following intensive investigation.
