Retired High Court Judge appointed interim Supervisor of Insolvency

Retired High Court Judge Justice Roy Anderson is the interim Supervisor of Insolvency.



The appointment was announced today by Industry, Investment and Commerce Minister Anthony Hylton as the government moves to introduce the recently enacted Insolvency Act.



Justice Anderson, who has extensive experience in international trade as well as commercial and revenue law, took office on December 31 last year and is scheduled to serve between six months to a year.



The Insolvency Act is aimed at assisting companies that have fallen into or on the brink of bankruptcy implement viable turnaround strategies.



Justice Anderson says this is critical to creating an economic environment in which entrepreneurs will not be stigmatised for taking risks or left without remedies when normal business failures occur.
