FOOTBALL: LIME set to launch Futsal competition

Published:Tuesday | January 13, 2015 | 9:16 AM

Telecommunication company LIME is to launch a national Futsal competition in March with the recruitment of teams starting at the end of January.

LIME had successfully staged a street football tournament in 2014 but will take a different approach to the competition this year.

LIME’s Carlo Redwood, the vice-president of marketing, says this year's competition will have a greater impact on the development of local football than last year.

Futsal programmes across the world focus not only on increasing and honing football skills, but fusing opportunities for continued sports education, training, and steering individuals away from unemployment.

The Futsal format includes four players and a goalkeeper.
