China Harbour workers back on the job

Published:Tuesday | January 13, 2015 | 1:17 PM

Workers employed by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), who took industrial action yesterday, are now back on the job.

The workers agreed to resume duties following talks held yesterday.

The discussion, which went late into last evening, involved the management of China Harbour, Member of Parliament for North West St Catherine, Robert Pickersgill, and the company’s liaison officer.

The disgruntled workers took industrial action to protest what they said are continuous anomalies in the payment of their salaries.

The company says it is putting measures in place to remedy the situation.
