CRICKET: Santokie, Badree and Sammy nominated for ESPN award

Jamaican left arm pacer Krishmar Santokie along with spinner Samuel Badree and Darren Sammy were the only West Indian players nominated for the influential ESPN cricinfo Awards for 2014.



The awards recognise the best individual batting and bowling performances in cricket over a calendar year.



The three players were nominated in the T20 section.



No West Indian player was nominated for an award in either the test or One Day International categories.



Santokie's 4 for 21 against England in the second T20I in Barbados along with Badree's 3 for 10 against Bangladesh in the 2014 World T20 in Mirpur were nominated in the bowling section.



Meanwhile, Darren Sammy, who cracked 42 not out against Pakistan at the 2014 ICC World T20 was nominated for the batting award.



The winners for 2014 will be announced early February.
