CRICKET: Jamaica face Leewards in opening WICB Super50

Jamaica's cricketers will today attempt to get their WICB NAGICO Insurance Super50 campaign off to a winning start when they face Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago.



The game which is a day and night fixture and is set to get underway at 12:30 this afternoon.



The Jamaicans are without Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Andre Russell, Jerome Taylor and Sheldon Cottrell, who are in South Africa on duties with the West Indies duties.



However, they will start as match favourites.



Jamaica's team will be captained by left-arm spinner Nikita Miller.



The Jamaicans will be banking on West Indies Test batsman Jermaine Blackwood, his out-of-favour West Indies counterparts Danza Hyatt and Nkrumah Bonner and Tamar Lambert to lead the batting.



The bowling will be led by Nikita Miller, with support from seamer David Bernard Jr, leg-spinner Damion Jacobs and fast bowler Marquino Mindley.
