The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) says charges are to be laid against eight persons who were held on reasonable suspicion of breaching the anti-lottery scamming law.

MOCA says the eight were held during an operation in Kensington, St James yesterday.

It says the operation was conducted at two premises in the area where it was alleged that the occupants were involved in illicit activities.

MOCA says during the search at one of the premises, a large quantity of paper containing the information of people living abroad, cell phones and other electronic devices were seized.

MOCA says eight people who occupy the premises were subsequently arrested.
