A Justice of the Peace and his brother were today arrested and charged by detectives from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) for forgery, conspiracy to defraud and uttering forged documents.

The Justice of the Peace is Robert Bacchus and his brother is Mark Bacchus.

MOCA says the brothers who are both Directors of Bacchus Engineering Work Limited, submitted documents to the National Contracts Commission during the company’s re-registration process.

MOCA says these documents were later identified as fraudulent.

It says an investigation was launched by the Office of the Contractor General who referred the case to the police.

The OCG said its probe revealed that Bacchus Engineering's 2013 application included a résumé of a man which was discovered to be fraudulent.

According to the OCG, the résumé indicated that Mark Randall was a technical staff member who was employed to the entity for 23 years.

However, the OCG said during its probe, Randall was contacted and he disclosed that he has had no dealings with Bacchus Engineering since 2000.

MOCA says following further intense investigations, the Bacchus brothers were interviewed by detectives and later charged.

They are scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court on January 27.
