Former West Indies captain, Carl Hooper has been appointed coach of the Guyana Amazon Warriors for this year's Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Hooper was previously the assistant coach for Antigua Hawksbills in 2014.

He was also the coach of the West Indies Cricket Board's High Performance Centre in Barbados.

Amazon Warriors were beaten by the Barbados Tridents in the final of last year's CPL competition.

Hooper says he is looking forward to working with the immensely talented group of cricketers on the Warriors' team.

He further says he wants to assist with overall development of Guyana's young cricketers, who will be a part of this year’s CPL squad.
