GOLF: US player denies using cocaine

Published:Wednesday | January 21, 2015 | 3:24 PM

United States golfer Dustin Johnson has denied having a problem with cocaine.

Johnson says in July last year he was taking time out from the game to confront personal challenges, which saw him missing the Ryder Cup.

It was reported by golf.com that Johnson was serving a six-month ban after testing positive for cocaine.

However, Johnson says he did not have a problem when he was asked specifically about the drug.

Johnson further says he had occasionally drank too much vodka and he struggled to handle stress.

Johnson is an eight-time winner on the PGA Tour.
