The St Catherine police say they have shot and killed two of the parish's most wanted criminals during an operation in the New Nursery District, Twickenham Park a short while ago.
One of the men has been identified as Michael Morgan otherwise called Tulus, of Job Lane in the parish.
The police say he was wanted in connection to several homicides, the most recent of which was a double murder in Kingland district on January 3.
In that incident 47-year-old Radcliffe Richards and his wife, Ann-Marie, were shot and killed at their home in the rural farming community.
A heavy detachment of police and military personnel are currently in the Twickenham Park community searching for other criminals they believe may still be in the area.
They have reportedly cordoned off the road from Norman Manley Boulevard up to the fishing village.
