Reggae icon, John Holt has been honoured by Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival for his “years of giving great music for the world to enjoy”.

Brian Holt, who is the late singer’s son, accepted the award on behalf of his father following his surprise performance on opening night of the 2015 staging of the festival, being held at the Telawny Multi-purpose Stadium. Holt junior gave a stellar rendition of some of his father’s greatest hits, including I Want The Love I Can Feel and Be Careful.

Following his performance, organizer of the festival, Walter Elmore, accompanied by festival coordinator, Jackie Norman came onstage and made the official presentation to Holt's son. Elmore also called for a moment of silence for the late Reggae icon.
