Kingston businessman murder trial continues to face setbacks
The murder trial of Kingston businessman, Noel Hunter, continues to face setbacks.
Hunter is on trial for the 2007 murder of former University of Technology student Sherine Brown.
When the case was called up in the Home Circuit Court yesterday, the court was informed that the key witness was absent.
The trial was then rescheduled to May 4.
Allegations are that in July 2007, Hunter, who is a licensed firearm holder, was travelling along Chisholm Avenue in Kingston when a man said to be of unsound mind threw a stone which struck his car.
Hunter and the man allegedly got into a dispute and the businessman pulled his gun and fired a shot at him.
The bullet struck the UTech student who was walking along the roadway.
Hunter was subsequently arrested and charged with murder.
