INDECOM received more than 1,000 complaints in 2014

The Independent Commission of the Investigations (INDECOM) says in 2014 it received 1,028 complaints from members of the public against members of the security forces.



INDECOM says assault continues to be the leading complaint with 277 recorded last year.



The category of unprofessional conduct was the second highest with 135 while fatal shooting was the third with 115 reports.



The top five is rounded off with 95 reports of shooting and abuse of office with 72 reports.



INDECOM says the category which recorded the least number of complaints was sexual harassment offences and arson for which the Commission recorded one each.
