A power outage in Falmouth and its environs affected the Falmouth Hospital for almost two hours this evening.
It is reported that the standby generator failed to kick in , leaving the hospital in darkness.
However, it is understood that no life was threatened and no surgical operation was in progress at the time.
The standby unit only became functional when service personnel were brought in to attend to it.
Hospital chairman, Reverend Devere Nugent who visited the hospital following the blackout, has requested a report on the incident.
