Published:Wednesday | February 11, 2015 | 9:20 AM

The Ebola isolation unit and triage, being established at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, is expected to be up and running this month.

Chief Executive Officer at the hospital Anthony Smikle says the facility is almost complete.

According to Smikle, the facility needs only minor fixtures and should be in operation as soon as next week.

The facility will serve as a specialised centre for the isolation of any possible cases of Ebola in western Jamaica.

Construction of the Ebola-isolation facility and the triage area at the Cornwall Regional Hospital is being undertaken at a cost of $30 million.
