Female UWI student abducted in downtown Kingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica:

The Kingston Central Police are investigating this morning's abduction of a 20-year-old female student of the University of the West Indies, Mona.




Commanding officer for Kingston Central, Superintendent Michael Scott says the incident occurred about 8:30 a.m.



He says the student was in a white Honda CRV parked outside the St. Aloysius Primary on Duke Street.



Superintendent Scott says the girl's mother had parked the car outside the school's entrance and had taken two other children onto the school's compound when the incident happened.



He says a man reportedly went into the vehicle and drove it off.



Superintendent Scott gives the licence plate number of the car as 2727-BJ.
