Police search for woman responsible for feotus dumped on river bank

The police say a foetus, believed to be about 24 weeks old, was found on the bank of the Hope River in St Andrew on the weekend.



The police's Corporate Communication Unit says about 5:05 yesterday afternoon, residents found the foetus among debris and called the police. The foetus was found with the umbilical cord and afterbirth still attached.



The scene was processed and the foetus removed to the morgue.



The police are asking anyone with information that can assist with their investigation to call the Papine police at 927-2047, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
