FIFA threaten to suspend Albania

FIFA has threatened to suspend Albania from international matches because of alleged government interference with the country\'s national soccer federation.

In a letter to the government on January 21, FIFA gave authorities a month to cancel an audit of the Albanian Football Association.

The letter was signed by FIFA\'s General Secretary Jerome Valcke and UEFA counterpart David Taylor and was sent to Minister of Sport for Albania Ylli Pango.

The audit was ordered amid an ongoing dispute between the government and soccer federation.

In December, Pango asked UEFA to investigate alleged match fixing involving Albania\'s last two European Championship qualifiers against Belarus and Romania.
