Aussies fightback

Openers Phil Jaques and Matthew Hayden are attempting to lead an Australian fight back after India piled up a massive 526 on today’s second day of the fourth and final Test.



At stumps, Australia reached 62 without loss, 464 runs behind India.



Hayden is undefeated on 36 while Jaques is 21 not out.



Earlier, India added 217 runs to its overnight score of 309 for five in an attempt to square the series at 2-2.



Sachin Tendulkar, who resumed at 124 after putting India in control on the first day, went on to score 153. The little master slammed 13 fours and three sixes from 205 balls.



Skipper Anil Kumble, who was dropped first ball, went on to make 87, sharing 107 with Harbhajan Singh (63) as the final three wickets yielded 167 runs.



Other good contribution came from Virender Sehwag (63) and VVS Laxman (51).



Bowling for Australia, Mitchell Johnson finished with four for 126 and Brett Lee three for 101.
