Ghana advance in African Cup
Michael Essien scored one goal and created another for Sulley Muntari, helping Ghana reach the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations with a 2-0 win over Morocco.
Essien scored in the 26th minute by running around the defensive wall and flicking the ball past goalkeeper Nadir Lamyaghri.
Essien then burst through the midfield in the 44th minute and passed to Muntari, who beat Lamyaghri at the near post.
Ghana finished at the top of Group ‘A ‘with nine.
Guinea joined the Black Stars in the last eight with four points after a 1-1 draw against Namibia.
