McCarthy replaces Gayle in 20/20 series

Jamaica’s 13-man squad will depart for Antigua this afternoon to open its Stanford 20/20 cricket campaign against the Bahamas on Wednesday.



The team will depart without West Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle, who failed to recover from a broken left thumb.



Gayle sustained the injury during the second test match against South Africa.



Former West Indies youth player, Andre McCarthy will replace Gayle.



Members of the team are Wavell Hinds, Xavier Marshall, Jermaine Lawson and Carlton Baugh Jr, Tamar Lambert (captain), Brendan Nash, Shawn Findlay, Danza Hyatt, David Bernard, Nick Miller, Odean Brown and Andre Russell.
