Olympic Triple gold medalist Usain Bolt has been released from hospital with minor injuries after his Highway 2000 road traffic crash.

The accident happened about 2 p.m.

Bolt along with a female passenger, believed to be his girlfriend, received minor injuries.

They were both taken to the Spanish Town Hospital in St. Catherine where they were treated and released.

The police said the BMW motorcar, which was being driven by Bolt, was extensively damaged.

Bolt’s manager, Norman Peart said it’s theorised that Bolt lost control of the car on the wet surface near the Vineyards toll plaza and ended up in a ditch.

Meanwhile Mr. Peart says it’s too early to say if Bolt’s injury will prevent him from participating in this Saturday’s Jamaica Invitational track meet.
