The world’s fastest man Jamaican Asafa Powell is now in Australia.

Powell, who departed on Friday, will train Down Under for two weeks.

During his stay in Australia, he will compete in the Sydney Grand Prix on February 16 and the World Athletics Tour meet in Melbourne five days later.

Powell is preparing for the Beijing Olympics this summer, and is attempting to become the first Jamaican to win the 100-metre title at an Olympics.

Powell finished fifth in his Olympic debut in Athens, four years ago behind disgraced American Justin Gatlin.

Coach Steven Francis, Michael Frater, Darrel Brown and Sherone Simpson are also in Australia.
