The International Federation of Netball Associations announced a new ranking system that has relegated Caribbean champions Jamaica to Number Four.

Rated third behind world champions Australia and New Zealand under the previous system, the Jamaicans have lost that spot to England under the modified format.

Previously countries were ranked once every four years, depending on their performances at the World Netball Championship.

The new system now reflects the results of matches played around the world on an ongoing basis.

Jamaica’s Caribbean colleagues, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados have been given more favourable positions under the new rankings system.

T&T are ranked at seventh moving from 11th, while Barbados moved to 11th place after ranking 13th after the World Championship.
