Jamaica Urban Transit Company's (JUTC) Managing Director Paul Abrahams says the two-for-one discount promotion on bus fares has not been beneficial to the state-owned bus company.

While dismissing claims by the People's National Party (PNP) that the discount programme was discontinued because of financial problems, Abrahams says the bus company has not gained from offering the incentive.

He says it has been more beneficial for commuters.

Mr Abrahams says the promotion will be revamped for the start of the next school term in January.
