BOJ forex sales hit US$80m so far in May

The Bank of Jamaica has sold US$80 million to its authorised dealers and cambios in just over one week.

The central bank also said that it sold US$30 million today, Tuesday, through its Trading Room at an exchange rate of $129.91, after inviting bids from dealers.

“The offer today brings the total amount sold to the market for the month of May to-date to US$80 million,” BOJ said in a statement.

The JMD closed trading at $129.9077.
