20 migrants arrested by T&T police
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Twenty illegal immigrants are now in police custody following an operation that started late Friday and ended early yesterday.
The police report that between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. yesterday, they were called to a bar and guest house, where the illegal immigrants,three girls and 17 women, were held.
Of the 20, 14 were Venezuelan nationals, including the minors, five were from the Dominican Republic and one from Cuba.
The police report that after checking their documents they realised that all had entered the country illegally.
The 20 immigrants were detained and scheduled to appear in court this week for illegal entry.
