Because of the overwhelming support of its earlier staging in August and September of this year, Oliver Mair's comedy revue, Laff It Off, returns for a limited four-week run from December 26 to January 18, at the Theatre Place, 8 Haining Road, New Kingston. Theatre lovers who were not able to catch it before, will now get an opportunity to do so.

Laff It Off was Oliver Mair's successful return to the theatre scene as a playwright/producer and actor. The show, featured a number of short skits, music and dance numbers, that poked fun at topical Jamaican issues and personalities including politicians, entertainers and sport stars.

The revue featured a stellar cast that included veteran actors Mark 'Bones' Martin, Rodney Campbell and Mair, alongside young bright upcoming performers like Akeem Mignott, media personality Simone Clarke-Cooper, media personality and weather woman Patria-Kaye Aarons, Christina Starz, Craig McNally, comedian Dalton Spence and introduced social media sensation Russhaine 'Dutty' Berry in his theatrical debut - most of whom will reprise their role in this Christmas edition.

New Scenes

According to Mair, a number of new scenes will be added and current ones expanded to reflect the full scope of what has been happening in Jamaica for the entire year.

"The nature of a revue allows certain leeway to improvise and expand our material to comment on current issues. Since our original staging in August, our country has experienced quite a few significant happenings that we will be commenting on in a hilarious but tasteful manner." Mair said.

"Patrons who have already seen Laff It Off, can come back and enjoy all the elements they loved before and still be treated to new material, and new patrons will get a chance to catch up and enjoy a full show that is guaranteed to have them laughing from curtains up, to lights out," Mair concluded.
