Runkus excited about project release
With Welcome Paula Son due for release next week, Runkus is still beaming from what he said was a successful launch of the project late last month.
Runkus and his Old SKL Band recently completed the project, which they showcased at Suzie's in St Andrew on March 27. There were productions from Majah Label Music Group, as well as Bassick Records JA, UIM, the Poland-based
K-JahSounds, and Krs Allen.
On the night, Runkus presented a show that included the 11 fiery tracks from the project. There were also guest appearances from acts like Dre Island, Keznamdi, Sevana, Koro Fyah, Kabaka Pyramid, and Determine.
In the space that he referred to as 'Paula's Living Room', Runkus performed to hundreds of patrons and was very pleased in the end.
"It was great, a lot of persons came. I was more focused on the performance, so I didn't even see. Everybody was saying the same thing - it was just real. They enjoyed it, and I enjoyed myself," he told The Gleaner, adding that guests on the night included Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel, Chronixx, Kelissa, Aaron Silk, Jerome Hamilton from Headline Entertainment, Craigy-T from TOK, and Olimatta Taal - journalist and PR manager for Sizzla.
