Lasco Family Extravaganza set for Boxing Day
Boxing Day is back to being a family day thanks to the Lasco Family Extravaganza.
The event was last staged on Easter Monday at Sabina Park and featured acts like Ding Dong and Omari.
This time, the focus will be on Christmas, and it promises to be the family event of the season.
The event will be staged at Hope Gardens on Boxing Day starting from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. The family event hosted by Party King will feature exciting rides complete with a water park, and for the first time since the event started in 2010, there will be a Santa's Village and paint ball. In addition to the many rides, patrons will enjoy performances from returning performer Omari, the reggae princess Denyque, and the young and trendy Devin Di Dakta, who will step away from his dancehall act and showcase his reggae skills for his young fans.
Once again, the organisers of the event have partnered with the Optimist Club of St Matthew's, which is based in Allman Town in Kingston, to assist with their annual fundraising efforts to help develop the computer and homework centre at the St Matthew's Church.
The event's title sponsor, Lasco, is delighted to be back on board once again as the main sponsor. According to Beverage marketing manager, Catherine Goodall, "Lasco is excited to be back on board with this family focused event, which also gives us an opportunity to support a worthy charity. We were very pleased with the event in Easter and we are looking forward to celebrating and sharing the holidays with our consumers."
Also big on board this year is The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited, conducting a live spelling bee competition at the event. Young patrons will not only get to enjoy a fun-filled day of rides, but for those looking to sharpen their spelling skills, they will get a chance to compete live onstage for prizes.
According to event organiser Lloyd Wolfe, "We are still committed to providing good, wholesome family entertainment. That has always been our objective and it remains the same. Our prices have remained the same because we want as many families as possible to be able to come out and enjoy the day with us and our sponsors."
With the help of other sponsors such as the RJR Group, FYI Consultancy Group and Snow Ice Jamaica, the event promises to deliver on all-round family entertainment and will have something for everyone in the family.
